LeGrand and his father have made a living from their small freight company, moving goods between the American West and American Southwest. LeGrand, while competent, relies heavily on his fathers experience and wisdom. On their travels back down south, LeGrand’s father is asked by a close friend and client to deliver an inheritance to his family in Arizona. Initially adverse to transporting money due to the dangers it imposes, they reluctantly agree to his dying wish. As father and son set off for Arizona, their fears soon come to pass. The two find themselves along the same less traveled route of the Southwest’s more ruthless bandits and LeGrand’s father is killed. Injured and alone, LeGrand is determined to keep his father’s word and deliver the inheritance he narrowly escaped with. He soon finds his journey rife with difficulties… but it is in these difficulties that he discovers the man he was always meant to become.
